Open cards Series

Open Cards is a sensual series based on personal experience, open communication, and honest self-acceptance. Each one is drawn by hand in graphite and finished with minimal colour — just enough to place focus on the smaller details: toys, desire, or moments of private discovery.

 

I use the format of classic playing cards because they represent chance, risk, power, and control — especially within relationships. In this series, I rework that structure through a feminine lens. The compositions are stripped back and contemporary, with colour limited to suit tones, allowing gesture and tension to lead the narrative.

 

 

The work sits somewhere between playful and confronting. It’s a little provocative when you look closer — not for shock value, but to question how desire is framed, who gets to own it, and how openly we’re willing to talk about it.
